Eric Juteau
After completion of his studies (law and business) in the year 1995, Eric Juteau dedicated himself to the study of music and conducting. A few years later he finished his final examinations with distinction at various music conservatories. In France he assisted and conducted numerous orchestras, which led him to found his own music ensemble, Artemusia. This professional ensemble featured interpretations of 17th and 18th century works by using historic instruments and raised high acclaim in the entire French press.
His interest in the German language and culture led Eric Juteau to Germany in 2004. There he took over the leadership of various German orchestras before dedicating himself to the formation of Kapella 19. In total, he was responsible for the successful organization and musical leadership of 70 concerts in both countries.
His specific musical interest lies in the great classical and romantic works of the traditional repertoire. Furthermore, he is also particularly fascinated by unknown composers and works, which are seldom played, although they are highly remarkable. His focus, while rehearsing, lies in the historically informed performance practice, especially, in the development and differentiation of orchestra sound, as well as the work interpretation’s musical aesthetics.
In 2013, Eric Juteau was mandated by the publisher Ries and Erler Berlin to publish the last three symphonies of Étienne-Nicolas Méhul. Publication is realised at the Beginning of 2016.
